In this recipe, I’m giving you the best way of cooking Ghormeh Sabzi for about 5 people. So, follow the steps carefully to have the best result.
Ingredients:
· Onion: 1 medium onion chopped or grated.
· Beans: 1 and ½ cups of red beans boiled for 15 minutes.
· Red meat (beef or lamb): 500 grams minced.
· Vegetables: 1000 grams chopped and fried. (chop chives, parsley, cilantro and fenugreek and fried them till they change the color and become darker)
· Oil: ¾ cup of frying oil.
· Spice: ½ tsp turmeric, ¼ tsp pepper, 1 tsp salt (depends on your taste), divided. (tsp = teaspoon)
· Sour dried lemon or lemon juice: it depends on your taste.
· Water: 10 cups of water.
Recipe:
First, pour the oil into a pot and add chopped onion and fry it until the color changes to a light gold.
Second, add the minced meat and fry until the meat changes color.
Third, add turmeric and pepper to it.
After that you have to add the boiled beans and fry for about 1 minute.
Then add the fried vegetables, sour dried lemon and water to the pot.
Next turn up the heat till the water boils. Then turn it down and let it cook for about 3 hours.
At the end, you can add the salt. (if you use lemon juice instead of sour dried lemon, you can add it now)
Now your Ghormeh Sabzi is ready.
· You can use pinto beans instead of red beans and small meatballs instead of minced beef or lamb
